We pride ourselves on providing summer employment to year-round, full-time Alaskans. Our entire summer crew in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and most in 2018, 2019, and 2021 have called Alaska “home” for many years, and about half of our guides were born and raised in the state. We have been surprised how many guests have told us how unusual it has been to meet a truly Alaskan guide team; it is a testament to our tours, to our home in Girdwood, and to our incredible local guides. Hiring locals who know the area and can provide you with their insights, knowledge, and stories of Alaska gives our guests more well-rounded real Alaska adventures.
We were the only guide service in Girdwood, Alaska, that remained fully Open for Adventures in 2020. In 2020, we only had returning Alaskan Guides that worked for us and although we had a very slow year, we were happy to provide summer employment to 10 Guides + additional office staff.
Our mission is to provide the superior adventure day-tours in Alaska, to share our knowledge about the natural and cultural history of the Turnagain Arm area and Chugach National Forest, and to educate our guests as to the changes taking place at the receding Portage, Twenty Miles, Spencer, Bartlett, & many unnamed Glaciers. We provide a unique experience that intimately connects our guests to the sacredness of Alaskan glaciers, rivers, and wilderness that will be forever etched in their memory.
If there is a guide, you would like to have, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
We look forward to seeing you in Alaska!
